US President Donald Trump has extended the deadline for attacking Iranian power plants by 10 days. If Iran does not comply with US conditions, their power plants could be targeted on April 6th.
Trump gives Iran 10 more days to prevent US attacks on Iranian power plants until April 6The war between the US, Israel, and Iran shows no signs of abating. The US continues to maintain that it is negotiating with Iran. A proposal for a peace agreement has already been sent to Iran. Now, US President Donald Trump has announced that he is extending the deadline for opening the Strait of Hormuz from March 27th to April 6th. Once again, the US President has moved forward with plans to attack Iranian power plants.
First 48 hours, then 5 days and now 10 days
1. Last week, on March 21, US President Donald Trump had threatened Iran that if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz to everyone without any conditions within 48 hours, America would attack its power plants.
2. On March 23rd, before the deadline expired, President Trump again announced that he was granting Iran a five-day extension, until April 27th. During this period, he also stated that Iran had asked him to extend the extension and negotiate peace talks.
3. Now, as this five-day period expires, US President Donald Trump has announced that he is extending his plan to attack Iran's power plants until April 6th. Today, Trump also stated that Iran has asked for a 10-day extension. However, Iran has not issued any statement on this matter.
4. On Fox News' "The Five," Trump stated that the Iranians had requested a seven-day pause. However, this isn't the first time Donald Trump has made such claims, which have subsequently been denied by Iran. There has been no immediate response from Iran to Trump's claim.
The conversation is going well
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, US President Donald Trump wrote, "Following a request from the Iranian government, I am postponing attacks on power plants for 10 days, until 8:00 PM on Monday, April 6, 2026. Negotiations are currently going well."
Iran's threat
When the US threatened Iran with the bombing of its power plants if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz unconditionally, Iran responded by threatening to target structures such as desalination facilities if the US did so.
Iran did not participate in any talks
Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has also stated that he has not yet participated in any talks to end the war, nor is he planning to do so. Trump, meanwhile, says Iran is now begging for negotiations and a compromise.
It should be noted that after negotiations on the nuclear program in Tehran failed, the US and Israel launched airstrikes on Iran on February 28th. Iran retaliated, prompting a retaliatory strike. The war has been ongoing ever since, entering its 28th day today.
